Thankfully we and most of our friends and families were lucky enough to only lose power for a number of days, others were not so lucky. People lost homes, livlihoods and some lost friends and family.&nbsp; Since the beginning of the Sandy relief effort the American Red Cross has&nbsp;assigned more than 5,900 Red Cross workers to operations from Virginia to Rhode Island, with the majority in Greater New York and throughout New Jersey.
